MARCH 2026 AT A GLANCE

ABL Programme
Portfolio of Evidence in Motion
This month, our Adventure-Based Learning (ABL)Trainees focused primarily on their Portfolios of Evidence (POE). They attended POE support days at the I AM WATER headquarters and assisted with the facilitation of an Ocean Connection Workshop with Contour Enviro Group as a part of their practical assessments. These experiences allowed them to reflect on their learning thus far, as well as apply it within
a real-world context.

Ocean Connection Workshops
Contour Enviro Group Meets the Ocean
We hosted a two-day Ocean Connection Workshop for Contour Enviro Group with the Adventure-Based Learning Trainees as assistant facilitators. A group of 24 staff and interns from Contour Enviro Group joined the workshop, learning new skills and deepening their connection with the ocean.

Impact
Exploring the Long-Term Impact of Immersive Ocean Education
A recent study by the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) explored the longer-term impact of immersive ocean experiences on young people. The research evaluates a two-day Ocean Guardians Workshop and offers valuable insights into how short, hands-on programmes can influence knowledge, attitudes, and behavioural change over time. OCEAN FOR ALL Alliance
OFAA in Ecuador
Recently, OFAA memmber - Colectivo Iguanitas hosted an Ocean Connection Workshop with youth from the Montañita community in Ecuador. Through the OCEAN FOR ALL Alliance (OFAA), the workshop is shaped by the local community, ensuring ocean connection is meaningful and culturally relevant.
As OFAA continues to grow, we are inviting grassroots organisations from Mainland Ecuador and the Galápagos to apply for the OCEAN FOR ALL Alliance Training Programme 2026. Selected organisations will receive training, mentorship, starter equipment, and access to a global network.
