What is an I AM WATER Coach?

I AM WATER Coaches are at the heart of the work that we do. The coaches facilitate our workshops and serve as community level ocean conservationists in their local communities.

When is the training?

January/February 2023

 

Duration of the Training?

20 workings days (4 weeks)

 

What is included in the Training?

  • Two week accredited Adventure Based Learning “Orientation” course (credits obtained can be used towards qualifications across various SETAs)

  • One week I AM WATER coaches course

  • Level 1 First Aid

  • Financial course with Worth

 

How will I be assessed?

There will be a swim test, written and oral assessments. All participants of the training will have to be screened for Criminal Clearance, Child Protection Register and Sexual Offenders Register.

 

Is the training accredited?

Yes. The training consists of an informal and an accredited component.

 

What are the sites for the practical components?

Various Marine Protected Area beaches within False Bay.

How do I know if I did not make it to the next round?

Should you not receive a response by the 15th of November 2022, consider your application unsuccessful.
